Fairview Estate

 

Ridge Farmhouse is a contemporary rural home located within Fairview Estate in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal. The design draws on a modern farmhouse language, expressed through a series of low gabled pavilions arranged across a gently sloping site.

Rather than forming a single large structure, the house is broken into smaller connected volumes that step with the natural contours of the land. This approach reduces visual scale and allows the architecture to sit comfortably within the surrounding landscape.

A central living spine links the arrival court, service areas, and main living spaces, opening onto deep covered verandahs and outdoor terraces. Bedrooms are arranged around a private courtyard, while a separate parents’ suite provides additional privacy. Outdoor spaces—including the pool terrace and sunken fire pit—are integrated into the overall layout, reinforcing a strong connection between house, garden, and landscape.
